Two weeks ago I fuelled at Shell Thika. To avoid confusion, it is the one between Thika Superhigway (a few metres) and the juction leading to Thika town (On Garisa Rd.). It is between Total petrol station and Everton Car wash.

Back to my story. I go to the petrol station, tell the attendant how much fuel I need, turn to press the button to open the fuel tank on turning towards the pump it's already at 800/= and counting! In one or two seconds. I decide to wait and see how long it will take to get to 1600/= because it might be some kind of super pump. It takes what seems like forever. After the fellow is through fuelling, I ask him if he is sure the gauge started at zero because it took like a second or two get to 800/=! The fellow assures me it did and tells me once you lift the dispenser, it automatically goes back to zero (which I know). I have my [HUGE] doubts but no evidence. I pay, check on mileage and drive away. The car's fuel gauge doesn't get to it's normal point for that amount. Anywho, the car ultimately does kilometres equivalent to 6 litres less!!! (I know the car's consumption rate). This proves the bloody fellows cheated me of Kshs. 700/= plus.

Today I find myself in Thika and coincedentally go back to the same petrol station. Just when the fellow is about to start fuelling, I remember the bloody fellows stole from me the last time I was there. I quickly look at the gauge before the fellow starts fuelling and voila!!! The gauge doesn't start at zero. Immediately he starts fuelling I jump out of the car and order him to stop. Evidently, the fellows don't place the dispenser back properly to avoid it going back to zero when lifted the next time.

Anywho, I totally go ballistics on them and demand to see the manager. Most of them come and start begging me not to escalate the matter bla bla bla. Long story...

Be careful if you fuel there because it seems like they are all on it. The guy who was trying to steal from me today is actually not the one who stole from me last time!

In my usual fuelling places in Nairobi, it is the attendant who actually tells me at times "Angalia inanzia zero boss..".

UK was right. Kila mtu ni mwizi.mugabe said that too. Kenyans are the most suspicious individuals in Africa. Trust to them doesn't matter.
