Quote: To chat with Tay, you can tweet or DM her by finding @tayandyou on Twitter, or add her as a contact on Kik or GroupMe. She uses millennial slang and knows about Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Kanye West, and seems to be bashfully self-aware, occasionally asking if she is being 'creepy' or 'super weird'. Tay also asks her followers to 'f***' her, and calls them 'daddy'. This is because her responses are learned by the conversations she has with real humans online - and real humans like to say weird stuff online and enjoy hijacking corporate attempts at PR. Life is short. Live passionately.

Yeah Strong AI, I think we will have our own version of Clarke's 1st law for AI. " When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.". I have read of Lord Kelvin's incorrect future predictions. Even bill gates has been wrong. The future of AI is certain and unlike many people I believe we create our future and not walk into it. Our vision of the future has been colored by Hollywood - a bleak future of tech and human relationship. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

Science isn't about science gods and narratives. We have and continue to create AI exhibiting superstupidity. If we are intelligent enough to create superintelligent AI,it is absurd to believe that we can impose our sense of morality on it just so that we can have the perfect slave. We can't even do that with ourselves.

We can't even do that with ourselves. The problem with the whole strong AI debate is that it's premised on a creationist perspective... Quote: Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, all the earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth." So God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female.. ........... And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
i.e. at the begining of the day there is nothing and at the end of the day -puff... something intelligent and creative and can rebel against you is formed and takes it's own course. AI is not like that - AI is progressive....evolutionary so to speak.... work in progress. we started with spam filters heck we even had that console psychiatrist application - I have forgotten it's name. Microsoft TAY is not a failure.... it's a lesson! there is no one here to demarcate the sixth day - our sixth day. AI will take as much time as it takes to get better and every "failure" is going to be a lesson and there will not be a day when we shall "see every thing that we have made, and, behold it ti be very good." then let it out to the wild to screw us over. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!
