New MPESA Scam,Beware

At times, someone may intend to send money to another person through Mpesa but the money lands in your mobile phone although you were not the intended recipient. One of the mistakes that you might make is sympathize with the sender and decide to send the money back now that you have high moral integrity. However the person you intend to reimburse might be a typical Kenyan thief. The moment you send him the money he calls the service provider and seeks à reversal which when effected will mean that you will have paid the thief twice.


REMEDY:Is,after resending,just buy airtime even if 50bob..the reversal cannot take effect!!

Dont ever bother resending, let them reverse from Safcom.

Is this really "NEW"?

I also thought that before Safaricom completes a reversal from your account they call you to confirm?

If you had zero in your account to start with buying 10/= worth of data can stall the reversslvsince there won't be enough cash to reverse.

What assumption are you making of the amount of money originally in your account?
