Nice dividend

Good performance. I had expected a bigger drop.

Not so bad! I was ready for the worst.
Surprised at the dividend payout as well.

Business has not been the same for them in SS since a little known bank poached all their business and key staff. CFC might follow the same route as EABLi

I have watched the NSE for a while and especially the Bank Stocks and I cannot help but agree that exchanges are at times driven by sentiment as opposed to figures.

When the CFC CEO quit a while ago, everyone thought it was a sign of things to come and the market resorted to competition for NIC, Equity.
Good solid stocks like KCB stagnated and CFC even touched 71/- at one point.

IMO, even in the current bear run CFC is way under-valued. Despite the 14% drop it has a high PE and a consistently good Dividend Yield at the top end of the market.

The massive foreign (South African) shareholding of around 78% might also be playing a part on the sentiments surrounding this particular counter.

Surprisingly good results when one considers the drama faced by KCB [KES 6.1bn translation loss] in SS. Now let's see what Equity does.

Plus a jumbo spike in NPL's looks to be the norm for the banking sector led by Kcb...50% to be precise.
The main purpose of the stock market is to make fools of as many people as possible.
