After a year marked with improved performance in the tourism sector...some goodies for the shareholders
i) Dividend of Ksh 1.25
ii) 1 bonus share for 6 shares held
iii) 1 right for 5 shares held
iv) Acquisition of TPS-Uganda, iii & iv are subject to shareholders approval

We need to cherish the people and stability of this country.

Great job. The rights issue is a brilliant idea, but a lot of firms usually find borrowing easier. Wonder what they will issue the rights for? Predict ksh 30 - 36

TPSea was to issue some corporate bonds to fund the construction of a new 20-unit luxury camp at Lake Elementaita plus investments in other existing properties.
Raising money at the NSE is much better option when you take into consideration the bullish market we are experiencing right now. The directors may have thought its much better to do a rights issue than go for a debt, plus it also makes the shareholders happy when coupled with a bonus.

Rights might fund the purchase of TPS Uganda... The Kampala Serena is a beautiful hotel...

sometime I agree with Mrs.Lina Jebi (assistant minister in the ministry of cooperaties)who was once quoted as saying "...look for other areas to invest do not put all the money in the stock mrkt as this has more to do with luck ..."

Almost every share - excluding the obvious duds e.g. those that have been making losses for 5+ years - seems a bargain today.

I can't agree more. It's a buying season. There is a time one could not find a seller at this counter and now it's the other way round. 2 months ago I even bought at 15.50. I'll keep buying at these lows and sit for the long haul

With the damage that the likes of Airbnb are doing to the hotel industry and the fact that this industry is very sensitive to economic growth I wouldn't touch this one.
