Hey guyz, any opinion on the market reactions assuming the ICC gives a green light for Ocampo to start his investigations? What if he releases the contents of the Wako list?

@Bodo IMHO if he releases the contents and anyone at the top is implicated then the market will go down for sure because investors will be very uncertain about the following turn of events and extreme uncertainty always causes a sell off in markets as investors wouldnt want to be caught with their pants down....

though it will just be a knee jerk reaction

Come to think of it.

Any influential shots implicated will began to rant all over - this is bound to be inimical to business - by extention NSE.

May be so, may be otherwise, but its a very pertinent question.

It'd be good if we had this nonsense out of the way now rather than 2012.
I really hope he gets the greenlight to put away, UK, ruto (both) and the accomplices.

@kingauwi, I agree with u...but to some extent I've a feeling the mkt is resilient enough to weather the aftershocks although there'll lots of ranting by the big shots...

Nation had made a misstep. They've corrected the error. Ocampo has been let loose.

What are you guys talking about? This would be great for Kenya. It will mark the beginning of the end to impunity. Better than a new constitution since no matter how good the constitution is it can't stamp out our biggest problem which is impunity. Forget the market because it only caters for the minority.

This will be the first time big fish in Kenya are facing charges. Upon conviction they will be international criminals. CRIME does not PAY.

Hang the PEV bastards... I hope Ocampo gets them coz it can only benefit Kenya!

@all sometimes i wonder whether any of these "investigations" hold any weight without willing participation from the Govt.. i mean just look at sudan and uganda... investigations were done arrest warrants were made for Al bashir and Joseph Kony but with no support from the Govt those warrants are just rotting away at ICC... the opposite can be said for rwanda and Liberia whose govas were co-operative

i'm wondering how much Kenya will co-operate if the top dogs are implicated...

I know they will co-operate.
Imagine if you lost your child/ren, sibling/s, spouse or parent/s would it really matter what these bastards threaten you with to keep you quiet?

@2012 i'm not doubting that those who were sadly affected by the PEV would sing their hearts out about their experience when the time comes...

though my major worry like i said in my earlier post is when the ICC gathers up enough evidence and issues arrest warrants who will dare arrest those implicated???

Hapo guru umesema. The key juncture is when the arrest warrants are issued. Will kale take to the hills? Will the drunk UK revive mungiki?

@2012 - Remember... the PEV murderers will threaten (& have the means since they control police, army, NSIS) your LIVING family members...

I doubt you'll even need anyone to arrest them. The wise ones will hand themselves over while the idiots will pull a Kabuga and live in fear until they are either captured or die. I doubt any will take the Kabuga route though as it's an admission of guilt. I don't think the two principals will shield anyone and I doubt the are in the list.

That's the only sad part plus they perfected the act of silencing witnesses with the Ouko murder cover-up. I don't think there's a witness alive to testify if Ouko trial is to be opened today.

You are right. To the best of my knowledge... it seems most of the witnesses or folks associated with ouko's murder are just as dead except moi & biwott...
