I have always thought that one of the most ill advised rules of the Catholic church is this celibacy thing. The result is that priests end up in all manner of landing hanky-panky. Many Popes in the middle ages had wives, mistresses and children and even today, many priests have girlfriends.

The bible does not forbid marriage in order to serve and I wonder if this revelation will lead to more debate within the church on whether it is time to make celibacy a personal choice for priests.
Great men are not always wise, neither do the aged understand judgement...

Landing hanky-panky has nothing to do with being married or not. Don't we have married men who are landing all over? Don't we have proof even here in Wazua of married men who are always talking of their mipangos out there?

The bible doesnt forbid premarital sex neither does it limit you to one sex partner after marriage-Lev 18:18, 1 Cor 7:1-2

I still think allowing marriage would have helped, at least with those priests who prey on alter boys
