pun means:
1. [n] play on words: a humorous use of words that involves a word or phrase that has more than one possible meaning
2. [v]use play on words: to make a pun or use puns
For example, when I wrote "@VituVingiSana ameandika vitu vingi sana", that is a pun albeit in Kiswahili... and it was intended, i.e., I wrote it with the intention of making a joke.
Many times I have seen wazuans writing "no pun intended" in sentences that have no pun at all.
No Pun/Pun intended also is; Remember , English/Any language is relative depending on who/whom is delivering it and in what context.
Note that a pun is a play on words. When you say something that could have two or more potential meanings. Often with one meaning being serious, and the other being humorious. One says 'no pun intended' to either point out an obvious pun that is unintentional and you wish to avoid confusion, or a none obvious pun that is also unintentional, but you want to showcase your mental prowess for having recognized it. Because of the later, it is often looked down upon when said, and has now become something of a joke in and of itself when said as if to make fun of a person who would say it.
Live your life well, don't settle nor conform to people expectations. It's one of the best way to live life full of bliss and contentment.
