Why not he encourage cancer preventive measures? He would not need money for that, just his radio forum. Say he becomes ati-tobacco ambassador smile

That will not be sensational. However, if he takes on smoking that will be something I will support but I'm not holding my breath.

Good work Maina. It takes the courage of one man to bring positive change.

I would rather a kid's life is saved than this arguing back and forth b/s

Americans are known to be very generous with donations and the likes and you can clearly see the difference between we and them. Go Maina I will donate and play my part.

Sad Americans donate to you poor people, why do you think there are homeless people back there, because they have a brain to know that that's the role of the government whom they pay their taxes to, of which should be used for such.

But I understand the middle class chaps, copy anything west with very little understanding of the same, then go the hashtags way to brag to all the good work they are doing.

It's said,"Ask not what the country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

In reference of what is being said on Maina Kageni/Radio Africa initiative, regardless of their "hidden agenda" be it PR or What says you?The bottom line is a "poor" suffering soul from one of the worst diseases in 21st century had received support and importantly some dignity.

Moreover the campaign reminded us of the bad health programs(which I understand statistics -is been done many a times and the Govt' is in know bust slowly responding)that Kenya has.The campaign allowed us to be alive of the many who suffer from cancer and other deadly diseases in the country.

It's always sad, that we always try to see the negative of any positive initiative -I agree accountability and sensitivity of public funding can cause, but really ,look at the noble cause, think of the poor souls of these kids, then put yourself in their shoes.

You may not be affected..but would wish you visit these wards (Cancer/Aids/Burns/Kidney/ etc)a at any public hospital ...even in private the suffering is just lessened but nothing to smile about and see the plight of these patients -children and adults. Then some of you may change their bitter twist to the initiative.

There a come a time when we need to acknowledge the good and we avoid self preservation.

So before you criticize (Not directed specifically to anyone) just know this was self voluntary initiative, just do your part to make the country a better place, then allow others to do theirs.

Disclosure;
Am not affiliated to Radio Africa/The initiative.

Remember empathy and touching lives means different things to different people. So define your meaning and let Maina/Radio Africa relatively define his/theirs.

No Hard Feelings!
Live your life well, don't settle nor conform to people expectations. It's one of the best way to live life full of bliss and contentment.

Suffering people are not innocents in need of a knight in shinning armor as usually happens when one dreams.
