Rank: Member Joined: 10/3/2008 Posts: 101		It's obvious from the responses that we don't own the project . It is a Chinese project in Kenya. Once they exit, the project will descent in to disrepair. The term for the SGR phase 1 project once complete will be 5 years in the making. Surely this is enough time to have all the skills pertaining to railway construction passed on to Kenyans so that they will not only maintain the raillway but also be able to construct the remaining phases. Can't the fossils at the Engineering Board Of Kenya take lead in developing this country and create jobs? It seems their responsibility doesn't go beyond collecting Engineers registration fee If the Chinese aint passing on skills, then they ain't any different from the colonialist who wont allow indigenous people practice commercial farming. I guess you all now understand why our faming practices are still ancient and why Kenya railways is worse than it was 120 years ago
