We fail to realise that this Makumi fellow is a nurse, not a doctor and runs some NGO. Of course there may be issues of Kenyan doctors taking commissions for referrals. Health care in Kenya is extremely expensive and doctors/hospitals fleece patients. Do you know that it is cheaper to have a Caesarean section or angiogram privately in London than in Nairobi hospital or Karen Hospital. The doctors fees for hip or knee replacement is three times in Kenya compared to UK. A bigger concern is the doctors lack the skills as they do not do enough cases, have little respect for patient safety or care.
All said and done, healthcare in India is cheaper, better quality and reliable compared to our hospitals. The doctors have the right attitudes
