Minimum shares ni ngapi na ni pesa ngapi?

Minimum shares = 300 @ 200bob per share
Membership fee = 5,000
Total = 65,000.00

@BGL, out of the minimum shares , any further breakdown on the 60k? or does the whole 60k qualify for dividends?

The 60K qualify for dividends BUT the dividend is prorated.

Well, was informed that only half the amount qualifies ..

When I paid it was receipted differently and left me puzzled

Am also at loggerheads with them about receipting and bookkeeping

The par value of each share is ksh 100. However the first 300 shares are sold at a premium of kshs 100 which means you pay kshs 60000 for them but will be considered as kshs 30000 which is what will be considered for dividends if fully paid for.The other 30000 kshs will go to the balance sheet as share premium. Any extra share you buy above 300 shares from the sacco will be sold to you at 100 kshs.

So dont buy more than 300 shares from someone as you can get them at kshs 100 from the sacco once you buy the minimum 300 shares.

Rumours has it that they will be paying 21% this year. They are also planning to raise Shs.240 million from members to buy a 40% stake at locally-owned 30MW Oldonyat Wind Power Project and hope to connect the first 10 MW of power to the national grid in February 2016
Later they will be doing geothermal.

I own this unquoted stock

Any progress on this?

Sounds sooo untrue! Someone corroborate this I start flipping the share! (SIC not the SACCO!)

We need to talk about "membership fees", "shares", "deposits", "interest" and "dividends". We also have a common terminology used in SACCOs viz "rebates". Therefore 65,000/= could be apportioned to shares, deposits and membership registration/entry fees.
At the end of the year, the shares earn dividends while deposits earn interest.

Disclaimer: Not sure whether above applies to Stima Investment Cooperative.
