I have used IDEA and I have not yet encountered any data analysis challenge that it couldn't handle. The scripting feature also ensures that you only have to design your procedures once and re-use them forever.

Inbox me. I'll put you in touch with a contact who can fill you in on full features.

Correction...Its not just Auditors who use ACL/IDEA....Fraud Analysis proffessionals also use these... I personally root for ACL..purely based on experience i.e analyse 100% of data..easy to use/install etc...

Thanks Goliath. Is your recommendation based on a comparison of both tools? In other words, have you used IDEA as well?

Gathinga..Unfortunately I have not used IDEA..but all the organizations I have worked for use ACL, as well as KRA and some top Audit firms..But I think it boild down to what suits your needs. They appear identical perhaps the differentiator is cost and support locally.

Thanks Goliath. ACL support locally through Ernst & Young and in SA sucks. IDEA which is locally marketed by KPMG looks more accessible. Besides idea has a package for appx USD 5000 while ACL low end package is USD 9000
