Stock brokers charge a minimum commission of sh 100. Which means that even if you buy 100 shares of everready at sh 4.20 the commission will still be sh 100. This is an equivalent commission for a sh 5,000 trade. I have noticed that when brokers carry out partial orders they still charge the minimum for every trade. E.g i make a buy order for 10,000 everready shares, broker buys in chunks of 300 shares and charges the minimum commission everytime! The resulting commissions aren't funny. wondering if it is proper for a broker to charge the minimum commission everytime they partialy satisfy a trade. How can a trader avoid these exorbitant commissions?

@sparkly - I have come across the minimum 100/- charge but IMHP if they charge 100/- per transaction (not order) the u need to complain...

Say u want 3,000 Eveready but they but 100 shares x 30 lots... the commission shud b max of 2.1% of the order...
