maybe the medics can give a better insight on the process of handling such cases. But the guy talking back seems like he is overworked, he is handling a patient and at the same time is needed to receive another one.

But you have to admit there have been major improvements especially at that hospital since 2011.

the clip mentions that as machakos level 5 not knh, but even if you look at the video, as the man walks out 2 medics (guys in white coats) are moving another patient on a stretcher inside, if you have a patient its understandable that you would want attention immediately, but I am sure there are processes.

Plus if you compare the state of that hospital in 2011 and now there is a massive improvement.

The case of Maganda was a lack of available space at the ICU.

With all due respect the guy just wants to score a cheap point against the medics.

I don't think its fair to label the said medics as reluctant to help.

I heard a very scary incident the other day. A guy gets into an accident and the first group at the scene steals everything including his phone and medical insurance.

So good Samaritans take him to KNH. And your chances of survival as an accident victim at knh are way too low. So a guy with an outpatient limit of 1m and inpatient of 5m died just like that for lack of emergency treatment.

May be it's time insurance companies introduced a wrist band.

They should have taken him to Nairobi or Aga Khan... a mere check of his name in the system would have shown he is covered!
Kwanza most private hospitals fully cover accidents!

@impunity, the patient was unconscious and his wallet is gone. The good Samaritans were strangers and couldn't know his name.

Guess the key lesson is that we should all be concerned about the state of things at KNH.

The question is,Did the hospital works respond appropriately to the situation(accident victim)?

The guy's ego is a non-issue in this situation

yeah they did...unless I missed something - they sent out a guy to go bring the person in! ama hukuona? there were some other people to bring in others. Ama he was expecting the hospital to come to a stand still since he brought a patient he deemed to be an emergency patient?
ama he was expecting something close to this?

The guys ego is a big issue, claiming you are a medic to get attention is plain stupid, but to some egotism is embedded in them, he is just thirsty for some minutes of fame, who walks in hospital phone in record mode. That's the first thing he thought when he walked in.

The medic continually tell him there is someone to help, but he keeps insisting ' this is how you work'

Just because the guy who was there to respond first did not fit his deluded description of a medic.

may the gods who were watching over the other patients strike him, and the gods of the medics whip him with stethoscopes and may his egoistical gods be rendered useless.

I didn't watch the clip, kwa hivyo sikuona,If the medical team acted appropriately, why are people discussing the "good samaritan" and the victim? Can we move?

well the poster did not find it appropriate to tell us what kind of treatment the patient received, he thought it best to show us a clip where he is just whining at the hospital workers, while telling all he is a medic.

Then goes on to order the medic to 'fanya haraka' when he is asked to get some gloves and help out.

Is it the good samaritan's ego in question or the reluctance of the casualty wing employees... Lets wait for the investigations to be completed.

No it's not. If you put yourself in the staffs's shoes, you would understand. You don't go bullying people and expect preferential treatment.

Putting myself in the staff's shoes with the training that I have undergone I should know that when someone brings in a patient who is supposedly hurt, I should leave my paper work and attend to the emergency.

Hospitals are full of emergencies and not everything stops when one person shows up as an emergency! And it's not that he was neglected - there was someone sent out already... I think he... the "medic" was expecting all hands on deck on this one.

There was no one sent, the same man who was attending to the other patient with a bag is the one who went to the boot. Those rude women sat and continued with the paper work.

After watching the ka clip, i had my own opinion on the people + the good samaritan until i read the first two comments on youtube and now here on wazua. The medic brought in a patient, he could have left him to die on the road but he brought him and maybe saved his life.
The patient might have been another fool trying to cross the road anyhowly and at times you would say why should you care bringing him to the hospital. Then to tha lady , she was just there doing caressing her papers, surely the papers were not that important, its very common with Kenyans and actually since the mobile phones came, tabia mbaya ,you will go to any office and someone (especially ladies) will be busy on the phone while people are waiting to be served. Saw this @KRA and when you get to the counter, you might think you are asking for permission to go to heaven. They do not even want to serve you , when they do they do not even look at you , you say thankyou, nothing and it pisses me off.

Watch those seminars and will see almost 90% of the people are busy browsing
