So today I went to buy a tray of eggs. I met a guy I used to play basket ball with in 2003. He was buying 50 trays. So I inquired why he was buying so many eggs. He tells me he sells boiled eggs and that was his weekends stock. I accuse him of pulling my legs, well he is brave enough to show me his books and the shop owner confirmed it. He sell 70 trays Monday to Friday and sells 50 trays Friday evening to Sunday morning. Party goers buy a lot of eggs. So this is his break down: -1 egg is 7 bob, so a tray is 210 bob. -kachumbari per tray cost 70 bob. -Sells his eggs @ 20 bob, so a tray is 600bob. Therefore this punk makes 320 bob from each tray. 320*120*4=153600 per month. Then he has smokies which sells 650 a week. Which gives him another 6500 a week and 26k a month. His wife on the other had cooks and sells chapatis. Her expenses are 100 bob for flour, 30 bob for oil 40 bob for charcoal. She gets a minimum of 35 chapos at 10 translating to 350 thus making 180 per packet. She is does an 12 packets a day from Monday to Sunday. She get 180*12*30=64800. She also gets a minimum of 10k per weekend for weddings, parties and functions. Therefore she gets over100k a month. He tells me that religiously deposits 3000 daily ( which is all his egg's profit) at his equity account. The smokies easily runs his expenses with ease plus the wife pays all the bills in the house. He deals with 'big projects'. Equity just gave him a loan to buy bakery equipment. The bakery with a capacity to bake 500 400gms loaves a day will be ran by wife while he continues to sell boiled eggs and smokies till he pays off the loan.

I think the greatest undoing to us as a generation is "white collar mentality" and pride! Money is like manure. You have to spread it around or it smells. ~ J. Paul Getty

I disagree. Not all of us can be entreprenuers.Plus, the ones who become entreprenuers do need accountants, doctors, architects, teachers, touts, drivers etc. Each person should play his role,as long as you wake up each morning and go to work.If every one became a business owner, where will the employees come from ???

Caution when speculating on figures. From my experience, speculated figured usually don't take into account the ups and downs of business. The figures are usually off by 2 even 3 times

The thing with biz is to get into an area you are comfortable in, do some good research and don't look at making cash and going out, rather look at growing in that area where you are good at.

Afadhali tenderprenuership which I want to start. I started of in IT and projects were very hard especially if you are not a deal maker, you literally have to 'bribe' your way around the companies, then they send the thing to some company in india. For tenderprenuership you need to completely kill your ego, be ready to beg proper, be ready to take any madharau thrown at you in jest. But I am finding out the kiosk kind of biashara is good, not much stress and you do not have to pamper anyones ego to make some chums, the latter might not be much but its a better feeling.

Afadhali tenderprenuership which I want to start. I agree, biz is not easy as most people think If you have never lost you have never taken a risk.

Afadhali tenderprenuership which I want to start. Asante sana. There's a dangerous myth that biz is just 1+1. For me, I've tried biz in Kenya, but the fruits are not commensurate with the effort. I am now in the process of selling off my Kenyan biz and next I want to ply my trade in 2nd world countries. The fruits are much more rewarding there, clean money, no tax bullshit, gava at least treats exporters with respect
