This company has around 40 million shares in the market. This is by far one of the least in the market that only a slight interest from investors is going to lead to a big rise in the share value.
It is reorganising its Southern Africa business and revenues should pick up on this investment.
If it returns to full profitability then will rise like the agricultural stocks. Now is the moment to get in.
What do you think?

Be hard to convince pipo about Olympia...seems more like a family business...was told sometime ago phone calls to reception go directly to MD.

@scubidu - Did u know that Warren Buffett runs his investment empire from a 2 story building in Omaha?

P.S. Even after making huge donations, WB's net worth is larger than Kenya's GDP? And unlike Kenyan politicians or 'tycoons' not stolen...

Olympia not Olimpia... I recall the CEO said they expect profit of 40mn or so.

Olympia has a weird year end (28 Feb) so the results should be out soon.

Its the best way with this share (forget I mean).
My impression after following for 5 yrs while waiting to put it on my "buy" list is that Wamae Jnr while having some good entreprenuerial ideas has absolutely zero strategic or business knowhow.

Is this the same Wamae who just bought off sacafina (or is it sofapaka he he ) interest in Eaagads.
In the last three weeks the stock is up by 175% and counting.

The company's strength seems to come from botswana...no idea what happens in that market...when he mentioned 40 mn profit maybe he counted on SA World Cup. Could this Wamae guy be the next WB? Indeed they do have a strange year end...maybe some sort of thing for investment firms...centum, olympia???

B.Timer, how are Waguthu Holdings and Manhattan Coffee Holdings related to Olympia or Wamae? Fairly sure, Wamae would have been shouting to all sundry if he had managed such a coup.

Am with Waithaka on this one... if you love disappointment or if you like to test the dire limits of your patience, then it is a good stock! Talking of OCHL management,am just wondering, is there one company in the history of business that does well progressively without periodic change of management?

@newfarerwithalongname more like interest from ignorant investors. Investing in OCH is no better than flushing your money down the loo. Speculating on it may prove profitable...

@oswaf... Ati nini??? and this is your maiden post on Wazua? Pray ...most LOLlest!!!

Just google the after math the world cup leaves behind once the games end...economies contract serious..see france..see Germany..load of huge infrastructural investments become redundant..one time unsustainable profits..dupe greedy investors..and later stocks tied to these one time events crush big time.
how do you justify sound investment in a company whose perceived benefits are tied to just a month in a whole year? Bytheway..olympia wanabenefit aje?.. hope u haven't associated the name "olympia" to sports/games? Heh heh heh... just kidding. comment yako haiwesmek sense.smile

Thanx anyways.. made my morning.

Olympia says its full year pre tax profits for 2009/2010 is expected to be 40million+ and it has improved its business model(strong diversification), and is almost debt free...

it could be a space to watch for speculative purposes but i wouldn't advise any long time buying because its a relatively small family owned business and these can so easily be shut down or liquidated and accountability is not emphasized that much...

long term investors should really stick to the parastatals and the big multinational companies with equal oppurtunity to avoid having their fingers burnt badly

I got interested in this company when they started their investment foray, buying companies left right and centre. Then it turned out that they had no concrete strategy. SA subsidiaries closed shop etc... Burnt my fingers, cut my losses, left and never looked back. I'm not good at speculating...

@B.Timer; where did you get your information from? You state that it has grown 175% in the last three weeks. That means it was 3bob at the beginning of the month...wacha uongo!

Data on this site shows a 10% increase since 4th Mar [three weeks ago]

@deal. As I recall olympia were counting on the housing market in SA, with most of their products geared toward household finishings, but seems like a complete bust, including their botswana based business.

@the deal i dont think they will benefit that much from the world cup because i dont think they've got any big contracts...

i dont think their reputation is credible enough to get any world cup contract.... they are placing a huge bet on a south African economic recovery....

There has been constant demand & the price is 9.70... no sellers...

Does anyone know more?
When will the results be out (they have till 30 June)?
