@Sheep....I think KDN would be happier as a partner to Safcom as opposed to being its competitor. I also think they should continue providing backhaul fiber cable as opposed to Wimax. Safcom is the one that should do Wimax not KDN.

Safcom has the base stations to support Wimax.....KDN on the other hand has fiber to interconnect those base stations at a low cost.Partners!

Well they came surveyed and told me I cant get connection. Reason is I dont have line of sight to NSSF (2nd option since the building is not next to the fiber), No space for a mast either. Odd to think that thats the end of it.

They also came and surveyed my place, said signal is weak and they are trying to resolve this.

KDN seems to have hit the perfect pricing, if only they had adequate distribution.

Meanwhile Access keeps exploiting custoemrs with a pathetically priced Valentines offer

Interesting!!!!

That means you are contracted for 2 years. What if you terminate before the 2 years are over because poor speeds etc?

Why should one lose the deposit to a service provider who fails to meet their part of the deal?

KDN is picking up some bad habits from their neighbours Zain.

kizee, i have no clue on how to do the speed test and paste thing. it can go to 200kbps but mostly on the 100s. though yesternight and this morning was doing like 5-10 kbps (back to zain horrors there).

reithi - yes. you contract with them for two years and if you find their speed lousy you forfeit the 15k. sounds unfair but you have to consider that i don't have to pay for the equipment which they installed but still own. to some extent that 15k could be seen as security for their equipment. once paid 15k for that safaricom modem you insert into the laptop which was not even 3g only for the prices of better ones to come down so fast. wish they had an option too of not owning it.

needed internet fast and could not wait for the inevitable better deals and the way i see it, am comfortable paying 999 a month for 24 months which ultimately will be less 15k.

Does anyone have this BOX connection living in one of the Sandelwood Apartment building blocks? Do these Apartments have fiber connection, or will KDN use a WiMAX connection?

thanks for more updates
