Equity;s 12.8bn PAT

Took a Ksh1bn hit for additional loan loss provision in Q3. Will almost certainly do a rights issue before year end or next quarter.
Good numbers, but I suspect some more provisions will be booked in December

Equitel is still not profitable....I see no rights issue this year or early next year unless Ethiopia opens up its market. It hasn't even been proposed to and approved by the shareholders. Rights issue in a bear market is a bad idea.
I heard they banked a deal with DRC govt to bank civil servants in one region plus it will recover investment in 3 years.

This is a company to watch going forward. I predict that in less than five years, Equity bank will be way more profitable than Safaricom...primarily due to the huge contribution by subsidiaries. By then, subsidiaries will contribute more than 50% of the banks profits. I would buy this stock any day at the right price...(below 30)

Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Yeah some have become too extreme, the prices been quoted. It's one of the symptoms of a bear where the negative sediment is overstretched

I think soon and very soon the bear will be locked out temporary before it starts its perilous strong tide to the south. I a range of a month investors will make mediocre gains but they smile all the way to the bank.
