@Obiero it seems growth is still on. When shall defaults, low loan uptake and current "economy crush" reflect in banks profits?

In 2016. Banks are allowed to restructure loans & many will do just that after the 90 day period to designate loans as NPLs is exhausted. Watch out for 2Q 2016 results for banks start taking provisions for bad loans.

@boris boyka.. the growth is sustained on increased interest rates on loans plus enhanced commissions on mobile banking which has been seen as more profitable than conventional alternative channels such as the ATM

Indeed banks have gone the mobile transactions & internent banking way which is "expensive" to customers but very convinient thus likable and most used. That means Safaricom Will continue growing (proportionally)

Reporting season about to kick off and this shall hybernate the bear in as far as financial sector is concerned.. It may be the best time to buy! Share for firms such as COOP, EQTY, HFCK & KCB are trading at false values

In the unholy financial sector in Kenya, it should be understood that getting a drop in profits for any of the major banks is a very difficult task.. Near impossible. Think of 'free' school, church, government deposits being lent at 72%
