1. 280,000 is the average number of teachers we have in Kenya
2. Add an average of 80,000 retirees.
3. And an average of 90,000 new tr's whooll have left college by 2017
4. And an average of 45,000 who'll still be in college and eligible to vote.
5. And an average of 10,000 who'll have left high school and planning to. study education.
Let each one of them come with at least 5 members of their family and manage to convince other 3 voters. That's 8 in total. Now get the answer and see how teachers could influence Kenyan politics if it weren't for the cheap tribal voting.

Considering teaching mostly runs in families the 5 family members will be other teachers or kids studying the same and the other 3 they manage to convince will be fellow collegues in the staff room. smile

I think farmers are the majority and would influence kenyan politics more.

I support your argument.I think this teachers are misguided with the believe that they have the numbers to make a difference.

Why did they have to drag the teachers and the nation through all that pain if they knew finally they had to go and face Mt. Kenya and say "Uhuru wewe ndie baba"
