Get on more ngunzes When will the AGM be? @dama this friday @Obiero, When you go for the AGM, can you let the the big bosses know their fares are just two high and chasing away long term customers. Since ditching KQ over high fares, I have flown Ethiopian and Rwandair regionally, and the latter two airlines charge half what KQ charges. KQ however has newer planes, better food ( am sure some wazuans will doubt this, but Ethiopian meals are crap). Otherwise with the current tough economic times, if Team KQ continues with their high fares policy, they might as well open a solidarity account to remain aflot.. Pricing might not be the issue. Please re-boot, read the link in full, do some quick internet search and advice on findings. I was persuaded. Bankelele: Is Kenya Airways Over-Priced?Pesa Nane plans to be shilingi when he grows up.

A STEP- BY- STEP GUIDE TO BRINGING DOWN AN AIRLINE
1.Ensure staff morale is at an all time low. Do not motivate or respect your staff, remember to dismiss employees and at every opportune moment, slash allowances and salaries. Make sure you lose your best minds to other airlines.
2.Do not create goodwill or loyalty from employees, this will then create abundant space for corruption.
3. Try your best to get a raw deal from so-called partners who must not share a vision with your airline. Never re-negotiate partnerships.
4. Introduce irrelevant departments with overpaid heads. Make use of as many consultants as you can who are paid to do nothing.
5. Over price your ticketing and do not care what competitors charge.
6. Withdrew from routes that make money to pave way for partner airlines.
7.Ensure your board is complacent and has as little knowledge on aviation as possible.
8.Hire expatriate cabin crew, they should stay in expensive hotels at all times, ensure you ignore multilingual Kenyans sending in CV’s for these positions.
9.Hedge your fuel for long periods of time under arrangements that will not profit the airline.
10.Make sure flight cancellations are frequent, the angier the customers, the closer you are to your ultimate goal.
11.Buy aircraft that everyone warns you against. Buy many of them actually, especially if they are expensive to maintain, with wanting cargo capacity in a market with high demand for cargo carriers. Ensure you pale in comparison to your competitors who have bigger equipment.
12. Import all your inflight items from Europe and other expensive markets.
13. Don’t bother with the procurement guys, whether it is aircraft parts or fuel, they know best.
14.Hang on to your old fleet however expensive they are to maintain and fuel.

Bankelele: Is Kenya Airways Over-Priced? @Pesa Nane, for me the bottom line is price. I have taken two trips in the last one month and did comparative price checks not at a travel website but at the travel agent's office ( with cash in my hand). Trip 1 : Ethiopian $473, KQ: 620. I choose ET and saved $147, quite some good change. Trip 2, KQ 45K, Rwandair 25K, i had 20k as pocket change.Ni hayo tuu. As they discuss fuel hedging, leasing etc, they could spare time too for price sensitive customers like gathige. "Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least." The employees of Air France - KLM had no right to do what they did, but with close to 100k shares I may do worse.. May spank these fellows into rational reasoning COOP, IMH, KEGN, KQ, MTNU

I also love to look at the price but just as you choose Rwandair / Ethiopian there are Rwandese, Ethiopians, S. Africans, TZ-ians and Ugandans who will choose KQ purely based on price! Thing is, for KQ, the EXPENDITURE and not the income is the problem. Same like an organized hustler will have pocket change while a high flying high spender gets parted with his. That is a solid point. I particulary wonder why they hired over 120 new pilots between 2013 and 2015 while they only added 7 planes. Could it possible be imagined that one plane is operated by about 14 pilots??? Mazingaumbwe haya COOP, IMH, KEGN, KQ, MTNU
