I am keen to invest in middle-level bar soap manufacturing venture in western rural part of Kenya; and I am dire need to get the number estimates. In particular.


1.) Whats the best machine for this venture - considering acquisition price vis-à-vis throghput/ packaging/ maintenance cost/ power etal

2.) Where can I get this machines and bar-soap raw material at the best prices.

3.) On revenue projections!!! - bearing in mind that soap is must have item in every home; will government census report on 'number of household' give me a good indication in determining the market size? What your opinion on this.

4) To twist it a bit, I have access to Kes 350K. Can this give me headways and to what extent - I'm avoiding hii mambo ya kutengeneza sabuni kutumia jiko ya makaa na ndoo.

For those who have tried this business, what has been your experience in terms of challenges and pros i.e. regulations aka 'KEBS', distribution networks (kiosk, weekly sokos). etc.....
