Some of the religions/churches we follow have queer beginings. Take the Anglican (Church of England) church for example. King Edward the 8th of England wanted to divorce his wife and marry his mpango about 500yrs ago. Then England was 100pc catholic but the pope refused to dissolve the marriage and the king decided to have his way and broke away from Rome , i.e the Catholic church so that he could marry his gacungwa and kula vitu. And declared himself head of the new church of England. He then took over and sold all the assets of the catholic church in England and cut off all relation with Rome. Why should an individual's earthly carnal cravings determine the spiritual path that you take. 500 yrs later.

by the way that decision has had multiple repercussions.. the proper escalation of beef with the irish can be traced to this decision.

And when the mpango gave birth to baby girls instead of the coveted boy he cut off her head. Worse than ISIS

Is the present use of 'soft power' less brutish? Is controlling another person's psychology using invisible or intangible techniques better than decapitation?

It don't matter what anybody thinks about you, the only thing that matters is what you think about yourself. Everything else is secondary. If you have good self esteem, you won't care about what people think about you or even how they perceive you. That's their problem.

But then religion is full of bigots who harbor hate even amongst themselves. You will never see this type of hate coming from an atheist because we value humanity and we believe in equality amongst humans of all races. That's why we don't kill in the name of a god. I've never understood the hold that religion has on it's people. It's a very sad affair.

'Religious people' is an expression being used carelessly. It's a whole continuum of personalities and ideas. Same for 'atheist'. But I notice that some here will twist logic perhaps to reinforce their own agendas.

It's difficult for any person to love his neighbor as himself. Not all who say 'Lord, lord' will inherit the Kingdom of heaven.

Goodness comes even at the cost of suffering and why would one choose to suffer for another?

Is this magistrate a religious person, or irreligious? http://www.theguardian.c...ylum-seekers-court-fine

Good grief! He seems to be 'religious'!

People who quote the bible as a source of reference are usually low IQ people. You have to be the dumbest person to say that the bible teaches against getting rich. Ati camel through the eye of a needle, just what bull crap is that? Does that mean that we should stay poor in order to get into heaven? I swear you evangelicals are the stupidest people alive.

Mukiri, your posts is as ambiguous as they come. You can't just say that this philosophy student asked questions and got answers, that is being sly. You religious people like hiding behind ambiguous statements because you lack substance. What questions did he ask and what answers did he get? Post them here so we can analyze those questions and answers. Wacha kujifanya mjanja.

Alafu these regurgitated sayings that make no sense but serve to strike fear into gullible and dumb religious people. Who say that if you gain the world that you lose your "soul"? There are a lot of rich and wealthy men who have gained the world and stayed grounded. Mukiri, before you go quoting stupid sayings, try to reason and see if they actually make sense. We are in the 21st century, we have to question things for us to be more informed and smarter.

Too much matusi for me to read.
