This thing works. I went to Nairobi Hospital recently and the Doctor who attended to me said he is one of the doctors who answer those calls. I have also called it twice and on both occasions got helpful information. First my small boy had a ring worm and wanted to know whether I had to take him to hospital or go to the nearest chemist. The second time I called is when I got some medicine after a doctor's prescription but I forgot whether I was to dissolve it in water or give the small boy to chew. Actually it can be a good substitute for Google.

@Caveman, I agree, tail between my legs.

What is it with little boys? To explain to me why his eyes were red and teary, he says he was inadvertently shoved into a bush by his schoolmates, and a branch poked his eye!

What the @#!@! I honestly panicked and so I called...

Bravo Safcom!!! I know so many people who prefer not to go to the hospital but ask the neighbour what they think about this and that drug...

It will also help to know if you can give the kid some medicine that you left from the previous infection especially za homa or rashes and also confirming the dosage.... etc

Just like that book called "where there is not doctor" but in this case, "where the doctor is only a call away".

The thing is more than welcome to me. I hope they can also have some doctor's directories where one can call and get his/her doctors number. Some few months back i misplaced a doctor's card and had to google/call a few hospitals etc trying to locate him.

Alright, here goes Safaricom again with a new iteration of this 24/7 Doctor thing. Spruced up with Health Account costing 300/- a month and calls at 60/-. All for 5,000/- cash when you are admitted.

Imposing First Lady, beautiful launch, beautiful www.hellodoctor.co.ke, any takers?
I know, I know, they keep relaunching (at least AirBnb said they launched thrice until someone noticed)

This operation is being run by a call centre not safaricom themselves.
