The Japs gave a good account of themselves...the last 10 minutes the game was amazing...Warning shots have been fired by the underdogs am sure the All blacks will be ready....

Japan's win may be the biggest upset in sports history. Remember that in rugby, none of the big teams has ever lost to a non-contender aka also run.

What struck me however is Japan's superior ball handling. Thos intricate moves they were running would result in numerous knock-ons for most other teams. This is why I keep saying player development is so important. It is not innate talent that does it in team sports. Its how well players are drilled from a young age.

Finally caught a game between Japan and Samoa, those small men can play - the structure, discipline, composure - definitely not just luck. They were even beating Samoa in the scrums. I hope Japan make it to quarters...

Only Wales in my book were equally worthy of mention. (Yes Australia and their scram-half were great, but they are the Wallabies). Wales played like champions.

Yes, these two teams, refreshing to watch

French rugby has been in decline for a while. Even their group play was poor. Losing 9-24 to Ireland is embrassing for a team of France's calibre. But losing 62-13 to New Zealand ought to be a national outrage. Even Namibia put on a more courageous performance against NZ.

The French league (Top 14) is largely to blame. The teams are full of Islanders and washed up players from the Southern hemisphere. The net result is that native French players are often left out and get very little playing time. The pool of experienced battle hardened players who are available to play for France keeps shrinking. Even the French second tier is full of foreigners.

The French clubs literally do not care about the national team nor the world cup. They are only concerned about putting more money in their coffers.
