However, I feel that the extras availed on KQ relative to Jambojet deserve the higher price, in particular, allowable luggage that burns extra fuel and to a smaller extent enhanced comfort of newer KQ craft as well as basic refreshments. All said, their prices must be competitive relative to main competitors not the large discrepancy in ticket price that currently exists

My idea worth 2 cents would be for KQ to model a strategy aimed at making flying cheaper for Africa.....starting with Kenya by being the most affordable. @obiero, let them cut the refreshments and needless frills. Their competitors are Ethiopian, Rwanda Air, the Gulf airlines and not British Airways or Air France anymore.

In my view...the management is super comfortable, they get tickets to fly wherever, they get a fat paycheck, and get away with stupid mistakes and misjudgements. Complacency rules the day.

In in order for Obiero to make money here the management needs to

1. Not hedge on fuel esp now that there's a glut...fuel prices are going to come down even further once the nuclear agreement with Iran is signed (sanctions will be lifted hence Iran will be allowed to bring in their oil) It would be wise to lock in prices after this.

2. To reduce down time (that time a plane spends on the ground) they would point to point flying esp in Africa using the Embraer planes (NBO - KSM - EBB - KGL) etc and keep the hub to spoke flying for the international routes (Boeings) (Wazua pilots can explain the merits and demerits of this) No need for airlines to park while there are those who want to leave.

3. Cut the munching/refreshments service in local routes (who needs to eat while up there for 45 mins water is enough) leave that to those flying for over an hr. Negotiate better catering deals. (Operation expenses have to be brought down no matter what)

4. ALWAYS offer competitive prices. Get analysts to review everyday prices offered by competitors and either match them or offer better deals. Run promotions (we all know that we dont pay the same price for seats). They hired a top notch marketing director and his impact is not felt. L

5. Outsource their customer service department. Those people employed there do not have the best interest of that airline at heart.

Obiero.....you need to have attended the AGM and force them to listen to you

6. Stop luggage thievery. Baggage pinching is synonymous with KQ. They need to a rigorous baggage tracking to reassure customers that they luggage will get to destination. Otherwise they need to clearly indicate on all planes... Kila Mundu achunge Mzigo wake like KBS used to do.

This is mostly done by airport grounds men either when your mzigo gets there too early b4 the flight or too late so either inawachwa ama inaenda mbele yako. But probably the bag check attendant accidentally put in the wrong destination on your luggage tag Pray
