@scubidu - If you look past just the Tea (which is at a high) there is the land...

BTW, maybe Unilever will buy out (or sell out) Limuru... I do not understand why it is still listed when the much larger Brooke Bond (Unilever Tea) was delisted.

@vvs. There's a reason why people like Baloo Patel are still in Limuru...and you're right they are counting on the land revaluation. Is there a high probability that this will happen?

@the deal. Sasini is a sound counter...with cashflows...it's performance was not dismal, dividends and returns from ordinary trading activities was better than even Williamson...I bought Sasini at 4bob almost a year ago and haven't looked back...it's fair value is about 10bob IMHO.

The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

@vvs..the earnings you give must be inclusive of biological assets value, what if you strip that and are left with the core tea business?

To be quite honest with you, you need to pay attention to statistics. They never lie. I don't remember orchards going above 5 bob. To me, I would term it a dead stock. Its like a fixed account.

It was made miniscule by mismanagement... Current ownership is like merali... pocketing the cream...

Business Demand Shrewdness - Take a hint and stop hating. But enough about your problems and back to the Agricultural stocks: With the rains coming on time this time around after a long drought, these stocks can only spell "GOOD TIMES AHEAD". Why? you ask.

Underlying the agri sector's buoyancy are continuing concerns about the impact on food prices from growing global populations. The Food Price Index of the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization has climbed relentlessly for months; in fact, 2009 November's index reading was the highest since September 2008.

Aside from these supply/demand fundamentals, external factors such as volatility in exchange rates and oil prices are also adding an uncertainty premium to many agricultural commodity prices. Bottom line - 2010 is the year of AGRICULTURALS, including MUMIAS
Do it today! Tomorrow is promise to no-one.

He was moi & kulei's front man.
Of course, if I was in charge, I would refuse a state burial for moi as well...
We should shun men like merali, moi, kibor who have done nothing but steal our past, present & future...

Being shrewd (in a nice way) in biashara is like Baloo Patel who I see buys shares in (then) kadogo firms that blossom Carbacid, Limuru Tea, Kakuzi...

Shrewd is Bill Gates or Steve Jobs who build sustainable businesses through innovation & smarts.

merali, moi, kenyattas, kulei, kirubi are not shrewd. They have not built but stolen...
