Von,
My few cents advice..there are many posts here(you can search taxi business and you will see detailed advice on the business with experieced players and how its has been computed). One thing is that for me i will rather put a cab in my estate if i dont have business rather than giving it to cab firms(its somehow suicidal) but if you can take it there the better for your risks. Are you the driver?? or you want to give it to another person?
Be careful...be carefull....its a good business if you will roll your sleeves but if you want it to be done by others ..better have pressure pills.

Just visit the previous taxi discusions

Please please broda unless u have a thick skin and all the time to monitor it dont try n i say dont try.high risk n dangerous undertaking.

Do some research n u will find that there is no success story from cabs and taxis however attractive it might look.all the new entrants u seeing all around r just optimists who never seeked advice the way you done.

look here:

Car hire self drive - be sure that most likely one time ua car will be used for a criminal activity.

Taxi; unless u the driver ull be conned by drivers some of who call themselves pastors.to that add high maintenance costs.dont be cheated by spreadsheets and milleage monitoring they are but just that, monitoring as a dud milks u.

cab company;they are in business prepare for maximum exploitation.

Thats but just my opinion and experience.

I had a stressful experience with Buzz A Cab after giving them my car for a monthly fee and the clown decided to go on a campaign trail with all the income from our cars for abt 4 months. I withdrew my car and needless to say had been chasing after my dues for a while until I got bright and used some quite effective. I must say, threat.

So be warned,u have to be involved where u have made a considerable investment. A car is such an asset and unless u get a very responsible driver.....

Hard to monitor hired driver, dangerous if you are the driver- might be found in some ditch without a tongue and other body parts...

Not worth it then....unless u operate a fleet with a contract with a big institution. But even with an inst, its not guaranteed. I know of investors who purchased a fleet of NZE's and Caldinas coz of safcom staff. Then shortly after that Safcom buys buses to operate all estates!

How is the industry today? Was thinking about getting into it and would appreciate your opinions? Are the costs and earnings still the same today?

@murchr thanks for the suggestion, would you be having any more details, like how much they make? Expenses that the company takes and how would this work with a contracted driver?
