C&P Capt'n Collins Wanderi1 hr · THE PAIN OF BEING KIKUYU (GEMA): It is fashionable for some people; politicians, bloggers, idlers and comedians to hate; bash, ridicule and make snide remarks against Central Kenya (read Kikuyu/GEMA) Community. Such fellows live in the illusion that if this community was somehow decimated or forced to emigrate from Kenya the country would become very democratic, peaceful, harmonious, just & prosperous. I have no problem when such a belief is held by riff-raff & renegades who derive ecstasy from the attention they attract in social media for such absurdity. But when the same creed is espoused and propagated by professionals; Lecturers, Teachers, Doctors, Lawyers and Journalists et al, I get very worried, for very good reasons. You see, I am a victim of ethnic discrimination. At one point after the promulgation of the 2010 Constitution I was denied a public appointment merely on the basis of my ethnicity. The chorus against me was led by some very highly educated people who had no regard to my own personal circumstances or peasant origins. After that experience I made a personal decision; to never initiate, participate or promote ethnocentric discourse. I would not want another Kenyan to suffer the prejudice and public humiliation I was subjected to just because I am Kikuyu. Apparently, the ODPP & NCIC do not seem to have a problem with people who express hate; bash, insult or make snide remarks against the Kikuyu/GEMA Community. But woe unto you; if you are from Central Kenya and you say something similar about other communities, the NCIC, ODPP, Social & Mainstream Media will make mince meat of you. You will be pilloried; tried, convicted and crucified at lightning speed. My message to you my friends is; do not fall into the trap of ethnic bigots. Do not be like them! Refuse to create, engage in, promote or disseminate materials, including social media updates which promote ethnic bias. Unfollow, block and ignore people who do such things. Make them feel small and irrelevant! To professionals who engage in negative ethnicity; I refer you to the book: “Rwanda: Death, Despair & Defiance. To partial Media Houses & Journalists who propagate and broadcast ethnic hate, please the read about Hassan Ngeze & Ferdinand Nhimana of Kangura Newspaper & Radio Mille Collines respectively. To my professional colleagues who work for NCIC & ODPP; your prejudice against certain groups and communities is too obvious and your “work” is a disservice to Kenya. Why Central MPs are unhappyConsistency is better than intensity

I dont have a problem with those talk trash about the Kikuyus. My problem is with the several businesses who now have a policy of not employing Kikuyus. We have hundreds of fresh graduates every year and some organisations have explicitly indicated that they are not employing Kikuyus.Where do they want these young people to go or kikuyus are not Kenyans? Just start today and prove yourself wrong. Tribalism is wrong. And people from Central must start removing the log in their eyes. If you think I'm wrong, look into the current govt and come report to us.
