Going by the cord agenda for their rally on 07/07/2014 in Uhuru park, and the events leading upto the day, then I believe and hold it that this will be the end of Saba Saba day as we all know it.

Saba Saba was born in 07/07/1990 after so much struggle (street fights and running battles against police and GSUs, political arrests and torture and general unrest) between the entire citizenry against the tyrannical Moi government.

I believe the Sabasaba day, though unofficial, was intended to honour the unsung heroes...

The original Saba Saba are heroes who should have a monument built for them. What they did required a lot of bravery. This was an era when dissidents would disappear or be detained for years without trial. And those who attended the rally at Kamkunji are also brave souls.

Rubia is right when he says the original saba saba united Kenyans. Just like gaining independence in 1963 united Kenyans. Just like ending KANU rule in 2002 united Kenyans. Unfortunately in each case, tribalism intervened and killed the aspirations of Kenyans.

Every time an event happens that could unite Kenyans, the devil of tribalism intervenes and destroys that possibility. Too many vested interests.
