Explain more on the esoteric meaning here. The universe needs a background to play out existence on the foreground. The black hole theory in my opinion also explains why so much of matter and space is empty.Gravity,if things get to close to a black hole its gravity will over power them but with enough distance they will just be held in place. I have spent hours listening to and reading Richard Dawkins about this matter. He has interesting perspectives. He still 'believes' and has 'faith' come to think of it, at the end of the day.
