At least they seem genuinely proud to represent their country and work hard at it - sio kama majama wengine who go clubbing, drinking and smoking shisha before vital games and end up just walking around the field.

I was watching the highlights on TV. After the match, the ladies celebrated with a dance (Lipala) which was very beguiling. It was led by Braxcides Agala. That dance alone would have been worth an entrance fee.

It's sad to read that they have never won even one match at World/Olympic level. They should work hard and stop being a big fish in a small pond

wewe endelea kuwa sad smile its like asking your kid to work hard and qualify for the Olympics swimming and all you do is block the river that flows in your farm and ask them to practice hapo, strictly after school, and only after finishing their homework.

Its not about hard work. These girls already work hard. The truth is that the calibre of volleyball player that Kenya produces is just not good enough technically. It may be good enough to dominate in Africa. But when you go across the pond you find players with incredible technical skills that have been honed since they were 14 or 15.

Height is another issue that lets Kenya down. KVF should be scouting taller players to bring them to Lugulu. The disparity in height between Kenya and the world class teams is often huge.

Do you disagree with my statement that Kenya players have technical skills that are of a lower calibre than all the other teams at the world championships?
