So if the one-off restructuring cost of 1.1B was not there then PBT would be approx 2.4B which would be about 33% increase... Not bad!

Going through the lenders annual report and comparing with last year;
I see their is a major shareholder called Best Investment decisions
Kenya Re has doubled number of shares it currently holds from 2mn to 4mn thereby getting a 1.4% stake from 2013 results of 0.71%

There was an article in the standard last week that there may be plans to merge NBK with Consolidated Bank, but it was not backed by any official sources.
