So if the one-off restructuring cost of 1.1B was not there then PBT would be approx 2.4B which would be about 33% increase... Not bad!

Going through the lenders annual report and comparing with last year;
I see their is a major shareholder called Best Investment decisions
Kenya Re has doubled number of shares it currently holds from 2mn to 4mn thereby getting a 1.4% stake from 2013 results of 0.71%
Wealth is built through a relatively simple equation

There was an article in the standard last week that there may be plans to merge NBK with Consolidated Bank, but it was not backed by any official sources.

Story doesnt add up. How does NBK refusing to provide accounts to the Treasury become an issue? There is more than one way for the government to obtain that info e.g. through CBK.
