Customers to now pick up parcels at Posta

Might work for smaller towns but bound to be a nightmare for Nairobi

I think the words are "customers can chose". I would still prefer Wells Fargo over Posta any day.

Only 5m of kenya's 40m population lives in nairobi. Surely the posta network (EMS) is very well placed to enable serving the other 35m potential customers. Therefore someone in lodwar, migori, mandera, lungalunga etc will conveniently shop online and get their parcels delivered to them.

Ask jumia their delivery stats. Youll note very few upcountry deliveries. Theyre just trying to get rid of that part of the business.

Maybe they couldn't deliver due to logistical issues. But now the problem is solved with the posta partnership. There are huge markets in towns such as mombasa, kisumu, malindi, nakuru, kitale, eld etc.

Please explain. What do you mean by they are trying to get lid of that part when they are partnering with Posta to deliver to all parts of the country?

The last time I checked, @Mawinder is an Elder and not a User.

I am, therefore, wondering why this thread is Green (SKende) as opposed to either Red (Market) or Orange (SME)

Text Book Centre uses EMS and it has worked perfectly for me so far.

I was thinking of selling some goods over their platform. Does anyone know what percentage they charge as commission over goods sold?

About the delivery, these guys already have an efficient system for drop-offs. In the Nairobi CBD they even do building to building deliveries. I don't think the Posta deal is aimed at urbanites.
