My expectation is that the share price retreats in the short-term. These are not the hey days of bull market when good news is immediately priced in. This will test the short term investors and some will sell at a loss.

The huge rise is due to a one off gain from the disposal of stake in UAP.

The huge rise in profits is due to the sale of UAP stake which is a one off gain.

@Ericsson, insightful and true. Net Asset Value was up a more reasonable 39% http://www.centum.co.ke/downloa...efing%20Presentation.pdf

@mlennyma, goodies are only Centum 3.0, bragging rights and share price growth

By the way. In such a case, what do the major shareholders get? (other than board renumerations)

Just like I said;profits are now being propped up by asset sales.
Yet the company still has negative cash flow;do I see another Uchumi in the making.
In the investing world;cashflow is a very important determinant in the stability of a company.
Some of those projects being mentioned I doubt whether the company has the necessary capital to undertake;this is a brokerage company in the making;no wonder shareholders get nothing in return
