If I get you correctly you opine that if there is direct linkage then all travellers would confine themselves to that direct route and that none would opt for a connecting route.

You seem to have a lot of faith, for a scientist, and hope that it would be so. Be that as it may what measures do you have in place to 'effectively' monitor this direct route? Recall your example.

Yes let travellers go through Accra or Cairo it wont kill them will it? They are merely more checkpoints if you will to nab the virus. I do hope Accra screens them.

it's a matter of statistics. if there is a direct route using one carrier and that route is the shortest route that does not involve rechecking in of baggage - yes! more people heading to Kenya would probably take it instead of going to far flung countries - unless it's for the view! bit it's statistics.

I have a colleague (same business) who has just suffered a setback - he was meant to travel from freetown today but KQ has pulled a fast one... they cancelled his flight because the flight will land AFTER midnight in Kenya, thus violating the directive from minister of health. KQ was feasting proper on that route... by the way Rwanda Air and Ethiopia are not yet moved!

Statistics? Probability.

Two or more 'people' checking for something have higher chances of finding it than just one 'person' checking for it.
