Business Highlights:
The business continues to deliver on its key strategic initiatives which include
implementing its aggressive portfolio diversification strategy aimed at
expanding its revenue sources.
- Since the closure of the manufacturing plant last year and at the end of
Quarter 2 of the current financial year, the business introduced two (2) new
product lines to its portfolio.
- Two (2) more product lines are expected to be introduced before the end of
the current financial year.
Market reception of the new products is encouraging and we look forward to
embedding the new products in our consumers’ spending culture and having
them contribute positively to our revenues by year end.
The business is also implementing a financing plan to ensure that the business is able to actualize its Strategic Plan and minimize the cost of financing.

Financial Highlights:
- The business recorded a decline in revenue compared to prior period which was attributed to strategic decisions taken to exit some of the export markets due to unviable business. Insecurity also presented access challenges to some of our local markets.
- Financing costs increased due to additional cash demands at the close of the last financial year in order to finance the Nakuru plant closure coupled with the depreciation of the Kenya Shilling witnessed over the last few months.
- The above factors have led to a loss before tax of Kshs. 17M compared to a profit of Kshs. 44.8M registered in prior period.
The diversification plans currently under implementation together with opportunities available in some of the existing product lines are expected to provide a growth momentum into the business and focus it on a path to profitability going forward
Pesa Nane plans to be shilingi when he grows up.
