I was once given 8 sweets as change. I went back to the shelves, picked an item that was precisely 18 shillings, came back to the cashier and paid with a 10 bob plus the 8 sweets. When she protested I reminded her of my protest a few minutes earlier

Having worked in a money environment,I can confirm the coin problem is real but sweets cannot be the solution.
I would recommend they have an assortment of items where one can pick something equivalent to the change or have a card to accumulate the coins or have a pricing that does not yield coins in change.

As for Wazuans you can Lipa na Mpesa or a card.
