I will be waching the following schools very keenly as all of them are run by HMs who were under HC Nabukwesi,formerly of Friends Kamusinga.
Malava boys,Sigalame boys,Chesamisi and Miathene boys (Tigania).I also expect surprises from Teremi, Kibabii,Maranda,Rapogi, St Joseph Kitale,Booker sec and maybe the glory days of good ol' St Mary's Yala are here with us.....BTW,what makes secondary schools in the larger Bungoma district tick more than anywhere else in the country?

When Mr. Were was the principal and the daughter was a teacher at Ngiya Girls. The days st. Marys and Sawagongo were real rivals.

@Mcreggae,
Why?.....St Mary's was run down by that idiot HM who came from Kabarak otherwise the current HM who came from Kisumu boys is doing a superb job.I expect the school to do much better than position 8 in the province last year.

@atiriri,
Used to hear of Sawagongo way back in the 70s and 80s.I may not know much about it......and now that you have said it,is it near Ndere or it's on the other side hapo kwa Bishop?

Were is the guy who moved to Booker academy before retiring?.I knew him in person.

Yep. His daughter was the headmistress of Bishop Okoth Girls in Kisumu. She passed away if not last year, the other year. Were was a good teacher.

Njunge, the kabarak guy was one Kojwang, he ran down the school by bringing in faiulures from Nakuru reqion where he had settled with his family, Were (always called student "son") was such a fine teacher and disciplinarian, in 1995 the year he left Yala was actually number 7 overall in the country beating many National Schools, Maranda, Kanga, Maseno and Kamusinga were always behind the Great Yala.

atiri, sawa was always omena when it came to competition with Yala the Mbuta.........lol!!!!!
