Its not just Injera. Virtually every rugby player that Kenya has produced in the last 25 years would flop rugby trials in South Africa, NZ or Europe. The reason is that the technical skills of Kenya players are horrible. Kenyans have raw talent but it is not refined.

Back in the 1970s and early 1980s, the calibre of rugby player produced in Kenya was higher. In those days, rugby at Changez, Patch and Saints was still run by Odieroz and these chaps took the task of grooming players seriously from Colts to Intermediate and seniors. Nowadays most Kenya schools dont even have qualified coaches. Some dont even have a coach. Injera learned rugby at Chavakali high. You think he got good instruction there?

Actually that's more of sports science. I don't expect long distance runners to win sprints. However I believe they are many talented sprinters in Kenya with well defined fast twitch muscles but they are poorly trained.

Here is a start for you - Among the "active" players Injera started playing in 2006 (9years ago) and the current leader with 202, Dan Norton second on the list with 179 started playing in the team in 2011 - your guess is ass good as mine where this discussion is going. So your start is neither here no there.

@Obi - Well things have evolved, while racing down, always hold the ball on the opposite side from angle of attack so it can be either left or right, holding the ball with both hands hampers your ability to attain top speed and of course inability to defend yourself - read hands etc. However fiji have debunked this theory and have the ability to hit the ball from your hands with their athletisicm whichever side it is.

@Ric Dees, achana na selective analysis, how many games did Ben Gollings play for England compared to Inera?

1. Santiago Gomez Cora 61 apperances 230 tries
2. Ben Gollings 70 appearances 220 tries
3. Collins Injera less than 55 appearances 203 tries

It means he is raking in more tries per appearance as compared to the two guys ahead of him. Infact Horrace Otieno and Kayange (55) have made more appearances than injera, give credit where it is due!!!!
