A pretty high climber over last several tradin sessions...yesterday's price of sh23.50 is up 33% what it was 10tradin days ago...n far much bigger compared to lowest price reported this year..

Financial year ends march 31st thus due release soon.

Please note profit warnin issued earlier on

Also note that EPS year to year growth for 07 was -62.01 drop compared to 06.... Whatever their results..it will be worse than 06 let alone 07

Is it underpriced? Probably..but the fluctuation in price frenzy will increase toward announcements.

Make an informed decision please.

@jammo - ALL the stuff you say (the bad stuff) has been factored in.

The good stuff: 1) KQ expects a better 2H 2) Stronger US$ helps since 90% revenue in US$. 3) Lower oil prices (except for hedged fuel costs but these are sunk costs) for the unhedged portion 4) Better/newer,efficient planes 4) Passenger recovery (no PEV this year, yet).

I agree with Jammo's sentiments on this one. The fundamentals are still not very positive considering KQ is probably the most exposed counter with the global financial meltdown, irrespective of drop in oil prices, regional dominance etc. Besides, the profit warning has not been discounted by changing fortunes.

The price surge is speculative, and there will be some burnt fingers when the results are announced. Please tread carefully.

LOL... even Jammo says it is under-priced so unless you are a speculator why not buy now. I have. Why? I believe they will do better than expected (the profit warning is old news) and they have the cash to grow over the next 2 years.

@Jammo aka @ProverB remains the undisputed KQ analyst. He wrote it off when most of us still thought there was hope. Today a good number of wazuans have come to appreciate how complex it is for KQ to make and KEEP money. Those still gambling can continue doing so, after all its their money.
Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

@vvs - How much did you lose on this one???
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

The pain KQ has caused to very many investors is legendary. Comparative only to the shenanigans at Mumias and Uchumi

What's the common denominator? (10 marks)
