Anyone with infor on this counter? Is it time to buy? Should we expect it to bounce upwards anytime soon?

I am in buying mode. I am also considering Standard Group and Centum. My thinking being that they are quite low, and have no reason to remain low, so the only option is to go up. Speculatively speaking...

I'm not touching these two.
Standard Group, have to wait and see their financials first. That move to the new building plus fulfilling their lease contract with I&M can't be that good.

Centum, this railway issue, still not sure whether this train is moving forward or backwards.

BBI will solve it

Standard Group obligations to I&M cant be that bad... There may be costs to relocating but also efficiencies...
As for I&M lease, KTN needs to be in CBD where the action is... like the jamia riots! Plus classifieds will remain in CBD as well.

I think its safe to bottom fish CFC and Centum...good things are about to happen.
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

Amen! Jamaa screwed up Uchumi!
If the Suresh Shah jamaa (who remembers him?) was in charge, then Uchumi wud be bigger than Nakumatt is today!!!
5/- dividends were sweet... and this is in the 1990s!

@VVS those were the days. I don't think i will ever forgive CK for taking a perfectly good company and doing to what what the politicians did to Mau.

Bought Uchumi @16 (IPO) & dividends were v good. Better than savings account unless you went for Treasury Bills. Uchumi high was 60/- (if I am not mistaken)

I bailed @45/- after Titus Mugo (Shah's heir) was kicked out.

CK destroyed the firm. It cut dividends, then stopped dividends, then did a Rights Issue, then folded up!

I bought shares in the Rights Issue (coz CK had left) but I had no idea how bad it was. I heard merali buying in (& selling out) & I bailed again! Another unsavoury chap!
LUCK played a huge role for me but I still got stuck with some shares!

At around that time i remember my finance lecturer going on about Uchumi being a good example of a company undervalued at IPO and KQ grossly overvalued. Lol how things change! Got in at 33 but was able to recoup some losses by selling a third of my holdings at 22 after exercising the rights. I don't plan to make a loss on the reminder. I will wait 10 years if need be.

I always wanted Uchumi, but somehow never got to buy. Something always came up where i needed to put in the money, i guess i was lucky in that regard. But I intend to buy some uchumi once they begin trading again, ofcourse once the price is reasonable..

@sparkly -
Uchumi soared after IPO until kirubi the krook took over...
KQ never caught Kenyans' imagination coz very few Kenyans flew in the early 90s & it fell from 11.25 to 7-8 range for years...
