I want to start a new business soon. I like businesses that don't involve stock because they are easier to run once they take off. I'm willing to put up 3-4m to start off, and also take a loan for a similar amount to take care of running costs during the initial dry period. What businesses can I get into for that amount of cash?

No stock probably rules out the GOODS..leaving you with SERVICES..!! I'd say either an insurance agency / mobile money bank or sports betting..!! If interested in the last one..holla.!

What happens when he buys (or has to buy) engine oil and brake pads in bulk?
Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

That doesn't cost money to start. It requires EXPERTISE. May be he can invest the 3-4m in highly specialised training (not the run-of-the-mill MBAs and PhDs that everybody is rushing for!)
