Jambopay to leverage Nairobi County for rapid growth

The Nairobi City County recently launched the e-payment platform which initially seemed like an legitimate over the board initiative until one digs deeper.
I registered for the service so as to make a payment for parking after which I got a confirmation as having been registered to the Nairobi City County System.
I was curious about how Jambopay was benefiting from their relationship with NCC, so I tried to register directly on the Jambopay platform.
As was my hunch I could not as registering on the NCC system had in reality registered me as a client of Jambopay.
With this strategy Jambopay is likely to become the second largest mobile money provider in terms of registered users in no time.
The most I can say is this fellows are brilliant and wish I had thought of this myself. Hope they will have made enough money by the time COFEK realises that something smells funny.

It seems that Jambopay have decided to use the CBA/Safaricom MShwari strategy to meet its growth objectives

Yes, they will be huge. So unfortunate that they got this deal via underhanded tactics. And their user experience is crap!
They have also approached CfCStanbic for a loan to fund the expansion, but they have been repulsed.

Two 'cheaper prices' malls to openWhat a paradox? Quote:During a meeting at City Hall with Frank Moreau and Emmanuel Naud, the company’s representatives, it was agreed that one mall will be in Karen and the other in Runda. If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

Just another example of our 'hogwash press' actually. The article is misleading as Majid Al Futtaim are not about to set up malls in Ke. Rather, they are to open Carrefour stores as anchor tenants at Two Rivers Mall [Runda, associated with Centum] and The Hub [Karen, associated with HK]....
