TPS SERENA records 40% drop in eps year over year to 1.35
maintains dividend at 1.35

interesting move to maintain dividend, a show of strength/ reward to the shareholders?

Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Turnover down 7%, cratered profits by 40% and maintains same DPS!

2015 more turnover will be crimped and if the dip is above 10% then it won't be about profit dip, but loss instead. I still don't think issuing a dividend was a good idea. They might need that money if the 2015 forecast happens or even worse. H1 results will offer a glimpse of how 2015 is cooking.

DPS will stem the expected price slide, but H1 results will have more influence on the market.

2015 many a biz will struggle to outperform mr market's expectations. At some point bulls will throw in the towel. Should $KES become too volatile, CBR hike may strike back effectively smashing the market bulls as mr market turns defensive.

True the revenue dip and the fall in profits are mismatched. while the H1 gives a guide of what to expect, H2 is where the money is made.

your fears of the shilling depreciating to 100 vs the dollar seem to be coming true every passing day.

Agreed @hisah @Aguytrying

As was the case before, TPSEA results usually shallow in breakdown of costs. They would explain better how the 7% decline in turnover results in a 37% decline in EBITDA.

may be they discounted their prices to get a big share of the few tourists thus reducing what they usually get as profit
There are only two emotions in the stock market, fear and hope. The problem is, you hope when you should fear and fear when you should hope
