Chinese to be taught in our public schools!

Yes you read right, Chinese language will be introduced as an optional subject in our public primary and secondary schools in the next two years.

This is a good move.Language barrier is a big issue in business. You find only a few guys in a company know English and woe unto you if you visit the company when your English speaking Chinese are absent. At that point I find my broken Chinese more effective to communicate than their broken English.

Talking of foreign languages, shouldn't we increase the number of them being taught in schools right from lower primary? Germany, French, Chinese and a few more...

German and French have always been there in high school, though not all due to teacher shortages.

I wish they were in my school, I wouldn't be calling German "Germany". Lol. Could they start earlier, its actually easier to teach languages to younger ones.
