The ninja made more in minutes by brokering the Vivendi Kencel deal a couple of years ago. Naushad Merali as the 2nd largest shareholder (40%) had a pre-emptive right that gave him the first opportunity to buy Vivendi’s stake before it was offered to a 3rd party.

Please repair the heading: Sells, not sales.

So Naushad Merali sold his 5% stake in Airtel for approx 770m which can be looked at as , if you think ,values Airtel at (770*20= 15,400) 15.5B ..!! So Airtel at 15.5 B even say 20 B and Safaricom is over 600B..something's not right..maybe he sold the 5% cheap..?? I wish would list at NSE like they have in Zambia.things will become very interesting..!!

I think not was sold before the CGT it's just that it's coming out a year or so after the deal was done . So he didn't pay CGT

Safaricom is very profitable. Is Airtel profitable? Safaricom has negligible debt while Airtel could have tons of debt. Compare apples to apples when comparing valuations.

I do find Safaricom overpriced but perhaps it is very cheap vs Airtel.
