Try abasheikh electronics, Mombasa. Somebody on jamiiforums had asked the same if I recall correctly. If you don't get it, you may also use the one for 4930. They're exchangeable.

Firstly, ensure where your dish is positioned is horizontally true. Use spirit level (app) to confirm it's totally flat.

Ensure, too, that the reflective surface of your dish is a smooth curve with absolutely no dents or other surface imperfections.

To nab 7E, start with MBC Mauritius tp on the African beam and maximize that.

Don't believe what everyone says till you've tried it. I myself receive 7E and 5E on two different but adjacent LNBs.

got it y.day. abt 1 cm above amos 17e.
what took long was the fact that mbc came as Rodrigues hence thot it was amos channels. but its a gud choice with continental etc. so plz advice didn't get any digitu.. channels or is it bcoz its not on the footprint?, is there something to be done to atleast make the tp's green?

Seeing as you are quite far outside the official beam coverage map, chances are only a bigger dish will do the magic. Look up a guy called msondaa on jamiiforums.

done with amos/7e/ses5 now let me try turksat 42e seems to have lots of channels to see if anything of interest.


Careful with ASAS my brother.smile Didn't find much in the only Turksat with an African beam. Try it and update us.

when I am on 7e/amos5 there is 1 tp 10968h 1950(on 9e & 10e) that I get upto quality 65% but no channel appears. I cant get this tp on lyngsat. what could this feed be plzz.


I'm not sure what it could be. I'd read in jamiiforums of a new service/ channels being launched on 16A though don't recaall the frequencies.

@Rankaz13... managed 36e over the weekend, but nothing much of interest there apart from the many dstv $$$..
still continuing trying & exploring....

Am new to FTA. What equipment would I need to set myself up for endless movies, educational documentaries, international news etc. Location is thika. Thanks in advance to all the kind souls on the thread. Would like to take it on as a DIY project.

@stealth welcome.. this page is a gud place to start. start from 1st page & get the tips then you can join jamii forum sat gear for sort of more advance tips..

do you think the small sat finders will help considering my location. I have tried looking for them but in vain. are they available in Nairobi ?. il be on leave from next week and nothing much to do apart from the dish

I gave up on the Badr 4/5/6 constellation after about three days of trying. A re-look at the beams on both satbeams.com and satstar.net shows that the beam passes by those sides of Eldoret and Kerio Valley.

Nilesat ain't much of a headache for me, 180cm pf brings it in beautifully. Not very sure about the small satfinders, I use a SatLink WS-6918P acquired in 2012. I've often seen them mentioned on jamiiforums though haven't paid attention.
