When Jesus says yes nobody can say no.

Niger Singers

Pastor Priscah Onyango

Michelle Williams

Who stole from the other? Can our pastor sue? Can the copyright authority of Kenya take this up as a case?

Oh my, your first video was published 4 years before Michelle Williams. Obviously she stole from a Nigerian religious song...

But now, who would have copyright to sue, because the videos shown cannot claim to be the originators or copyright?

even if copyrighted, wouldn't it then be necessary to take out the copyright in the states, ama they respect copyrighted material in other regions.

the thing about music is... while there are copyright matters involved there is a "fair use" policy involved... there is like a 30 second rule or something. The issue is always - at what point does "fair use" end and and a right's infringement begin?

And in today's world... it gets even murkier. Should live bands be sued for using other people's songs to entertain? what if someone recorded a liveband and put it up on youtube and he got google adwords revenue - what part of that should be given to
1) the owner of the song
2) the live band that did the song
3) the recorder?

check this out - our very own gloria muliro..

Do you know the "Happy Birthday to You" song is copyrighted? So... should all people who sing it in their events be sued? should all MCs and Bands who sing to "birthday" boys/girls be sued?

What about this Blurred lines - Pharrell Willims and Marvin Gayes Good times?

Quote:
A jury awarded Marvin Gaye’s children nearly $7.4m on Tuesday after determining singers Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams copied their father’s music to create Blurred Lines, the biggest hit song of 2013.

Marvin Gaye’s daughter Nona Gaye wept as the verdict was being read and was hugged by her attorney, Richard Busch.

“Right now, I feel free,” Nona Gaye said after the verdict. “Free from ... Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke’s chains and what they tried to keep on us and the lies that were told.”
